As part of the project, the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle-Dolina carried out the recovery of an ice house with an adjoining pond in Draga in the area of the Val Rosandra Nature Reserve. This is one of the numerous iceboxes whose remains are present in the area around the town of Draga which represent a historical and cultural testimony of the area that must be preserved and enhanced. The interventions for the recovery of the icebox have therefore made it possible to preserve and improve the conditions of an artifact that in the past was managed by man and then was abandoned for a long time.

To enhance the intervention and improve the management of karst Jazere, the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle-Dolina organizes a participatory planning meeting on Tuesday 16 November 2021, conducted with the methodology of the World Café, aimed at developing shared guidelines for the management of cross-border green infrastructures. This is the first of the 2 focus groups at the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle. Similar meetings are organized by all ENGREEN project partners.

The meeting will be held from 11:00 to 16:00 at the Visitor Center of the Val Rosandra Nature Reserve and will focus on the icehouses or Jazere: what is their role and how they connect within the Karst frame cross-border? How to enhance them and improve their management? What are the connected criticalities and possible solutions?

Representatives of local, regional and cross-border institutions, experts who were involved in the recovery project, representatives of local communities, managers of protected areas, tour operators, etc. will participate in the work.
